busy-ness.

by amy on March 8, 2010

i have so much to do today. all those little tasks that take up so much time (grocery, post office, laundry, cleaning, calling up people who charge me late fees for unfair reasons, pretending i have a butler).

but one thing i am proud of is that through out all of my busy-ness i have been staying committed to one of my loveliest goals, to learn piano. i tried the flute, i tried the guitar. but the piano is what i love. i think when an instrument is right for you, you just feel it that way.

i don’t have a lot of time to practice, but i’ve been practicing everyday.

if you are trying to reach a goal, my best advice is to spend at least 20 minutes a day at it. if you don’t have 20 minutes to work on an important goal, then you need to move stuff around in your schedule, cuz that’s not a good excuse.

something else i do to keep myself diligent?

i fast forward my life.

i say…. it’s ten years from now, what would be my biggest regret of something i didn’t do on my goal list? and the things i know i’d regret terribly are the things i work on the most. (it’s not only solo goals, it can even be spending more time with someone or giving more hugs and love yous!)

if you have something on your goal list that you’ve been wanting to do but just can’t get it together. then today is your day to make that commitment.

20 minutes a day… are you in?
