i really love the idea of having a pretty dry erase “board” like the one above.

and i also love the idea of writing positive & cute messages on it.

i finally get to leave the house today, for a little while.

but it’s so cold that i’m probably gonna turn into the tin man (pre-oil can) as soon as i step outside.

it’s a gloomy.

freezing.

snowy.

icky.

day.

winter is tough.

but i’m tougher.

generic, but very true.

sure i keep pretending a little fairy is going to clean my bathroom while making those sweet little fairy noises & hopefully leave me one of those bitty sparkling presents.

and ok, i should have gotten in the shower about five hours ago. but sometimes showers are really over rated, i mean, who gets to define clean anyway? maybe our children since they will always tell you when they smell something bad, always nice & loud, in public.

and maybe i have only crossed off one thing on my to-do list. and maybe it was the easiest thing to do. and it might have had to do with shopping.

but hey, i am not curled in a ball crying or writing sad stuff in the window water. & i choked down a very large spinach salad that i had no interest in today, but ate it solely for my health & brain. cuz it turns out “food for thought” isn’t just an expression. it does actually effect my mind. i learned that a while back, thank goodness. if not, i probably would only have 2 twinkies and a giant bowl of Golden Grahams inside my stomach right now. and i probably wouldn’t be writing this post cuz i’d be curled up in a ball, crying.

so, i count the little things as progress. as we all should.

i just took the picture above, today.

i was aching to do a photo shoot so i did a mini one and i like the way this one turned out.

i liked one where i was sitting too but unfortunately in the frenzy of getting ready and thinking i was only taking lower level shots, i forwent the bra and then in the picture, albeit a lovely photo, you can tell i breastfed my child, and you can tell it was for 18 months.

i miss my old boobs.

anyway, on another bizarre note -

the other day i was in the kitchen making nugget a sandwich and i had to quickly blow my nose since i have nasal drip (aren’t i just lovely!)

so i mindlessly grabbed the napkin on the counter and blew my nose in it.

well, i forgot that i had already wiped the mustard off the knife with that napkin and so i had mustard all over and in my nose.

there was no one there to share the moment with me which was sad, i mean how many times is that gonna happen in my lifetime?

i’ve got a lot of things to share in my next posts, including but not limited to -

- my new camera that is on its way here

- the birth of my child that i’m not yet pregnant with

- why i take so long to finish some projects

- my plans for 2011

i’m going to try to do a wishlist tuesday today too. i sorta forgot about those these past few weeks!

it’s time to start pursuing my photography career some more.

i changed the focus of my etsy shop which was going to be vintage items because it turns out i keep everything i buy to resell so i guess i found out what i’m not good at. i’ve turned it into my photography shop right now and i will be adding some fashion & homemade items coming soon

i’m pleased with it so far.

my cold got so bad yesterday afternoon that i couldn’t see straight. i’ll spare you the details but i was quite a mess. thankfully today i am MUCH better. not 100% of course, but eons away from 24 hours ago.

i made this piece during the winter while i was spring dreaming. the words belong to a poem of mine, it’s a longer poem, i just took a part of it and tucked it in the sky

i took some photos yesterday & today.

just getting the wheels turning a little bit.

i only use natural light. i actually dislike the flash on my camera because it adds reddish tints to everything. but i wouldn’t use it even if i thought it did ok. natural light is my love for the camera. with the exception of my new holga, i hear she needs a flash, we’ll see.

i put on one of my new spring dresses and big hat, it felt so right.

do i look a bit dazed? that’s not acting my dears. that’s real life duh-ness. i’m so sleepy these days. but i really love the way the sun beams are casting over me. have i mentioned how much i love the sun… (!)

the diana camera pictured is old and is missing the flash bulb, i bought it off of ebay a while ago (sold to me as is, unsure if it was usable but i loved the old look of her) i haven’t tried to use her yet. i know, so bad. holga came along and sorta made me forget about diana. oopsy.

today i have a photo session with a 4 week old, i am so excited!

i’m thinking about all the loveliness headed my way this spring

the books i would like to finish under the sun. although i truly find it hard to read in the sun, the movies make it look so easy.

and flowers. lots and lots of flowers. even at some traffic lights, i can look out my window and see pretty little flowers on the side of the road.

i love that.

but the thing i am excited for the most is the photographs i want to take. i am just bursting with ideas that have been jotted down in my notebook, waiting patiently for the nicer weather. this is the first spring i will be taking holga pictures too. so that is exciting in itself. i have been inspired by so many images over the winter, i just can’t wait to shutter bug away.
