so yesterday i finally had a photo shoot for my book project.

i had only one hour to get it done, since my husband said so. i guess he had to go to work or something and couldn’t be late and he couldn’t take nugget with. total sob story.

i’m very excited to complete it, i want it all done by October.

i am so glad that i finally completed a real session, outdoors! (the last time i did that was last fall)

my mom is my assistant. i set up the shot (the camera is on the tripod) and then she promptly presses the button when i yell “now!”

just kidding. i ask nicely.

i’ve envisioned these shots for months. and to finally have them sends me over the moon. i have about 6 more sessions to go before the weather turns sour. it sounds almost impossible but i want to complete it so badly, that i don’t see how anyone is going to be able to stop me.

ps – i found those flowers about an hour before my shoot. it was like they were just waiting for me, they fit the part exactly with their deep romantic colors and there was only one bunch left! beside them were only all the same colored flowers or the really crazy dyed ones. sweet destiny!

i’ll believe it when i want to.

so i hear of a site called “i write like” and i think, oh goody…!

i adore writing and i say things like oh goody! because i am true geek at heart.

but then i read only bad reviews about the site. people claiming that it doesn’t mean a thing because it gives out weird judgments that a lot of times are confusing and laughable.

so, i didn’t really expect to care much after reading the bad feedback.

i shrugging-ly entered my poem and got shakespeare and approximately 17 light bulbs turned on in my dimly lit brain.

then i entered my short story and got jane austen. which prompted one odd twisty dance that i am surely glad no one witnessed and am still having unfortunate flashbacks of.

ok, it doesn’t mean anything. i get it. but i’ve been a writer longer than i’ve been anything and i just love this stupid thing! how could i dislike something so complimentary?

all’s well that ends well.

oh look-ee,

more indoor pictures!

i can’t help it.

i know i just professed my plans of taking pictures outside somewhere… but the thing is, when you have a child, you can’t always get to places as quickly as you’d like and sometimes you never actually get there at all and i just had to have a photo session or else i was going to burst.

i wasn’t thrilled with the outcome, but satisfied enough that i am no longer jittering about as though in need of a cigarette and complaining about things like i don’t wanna go to the grocery store and how come the hair on my legs grows so rapidly, what am i a monkey?!

now me and nugget are going to go to the library and then to the park. i think i might even treat us to a friday ice cream cone, normally we save sweets for the weekend but i don’t know, i’m feeling extra frisky today and it’s worth the summer time memory.

i made these buttons this morning.

feeling a bit blue and drained, i really need to follow my own advice.

this morning as i looked out the window and saw that the sun was no where to be found, i said out loud, enough is enough – i’ve got to get some goodness going. meaning, i need to do things that energize me, focus intently on what really matters and do things that bring light into my life – a lot of overlapping within it all!

i always need to remind myself to prioritize rightly, nugget takes 3 hour naps most days so i fully admit that i should not have a problem doing my to-do list. but i can easily get swept away into maddening time thiefs like internet window shopping or talking on the phone too long. of course now that i have a horrible cough, i can barely talk on the phone… maybe God is trying to tell me to hush.

speaking of God, my third button is regarding Him. all those times when i’ve forgotten to look up. it doesn’t necessarily mean i’m literally looking up, but reminding me to put Him first, pray more, and truly put my trust in Him – which encompasses not worrying- which i’ve been doing too much of lately.

it’s time to start pursuing my photography career some more.

i changed the focus of my etsy shop which was going to be vintage items because it turns out i keep everything i buy to resell so i guess i found out what i’m not good at. i’ve turned it into my photography shop right now and i will be adding some fashion & homemade items coming soon

me, this morning. i've always been a window girl. taking a little time to think on what i would like to change.

slightly irrelevant to my post here: these heels are great cuz they're cute, vibrant and the heel is fancy but short enough for errands. (payless.com - lots of colors!)

so many journals of thoughts and to-do's.

today i’ve decided to put on a new pair of shoes, not literally, although i do love my new green heels and will be wearing them asap.

today is a day of declaration.

and i do declare (channeling Scarlett) that i am going to put first things first, prioritize rightly, and see what a difference i can make in 6 weeks.

do you have anything you’ve been wanting to accomplish but have been putting on the back burner?

make a pact with yourself today that you will put it before (way) less important stuff (t.v, texting, web surfing, reading my blog )

when i started practicing my piano just 20 minutes a day, it energized my spirit because it’s something i really want. and after a few weeks it’s like i don’t even think about it, everyday, somehow or another… i practice. even if it’s in the middle of cooking dinner, which i actually don’t recommend if your absent minded like me… i know dinner is a charred block honey, but listen to this show tune! so now i tie a string around my finger if i practice while cooking. what? you thought that was only in cartoons? no, i wear bows on my fingers regularly.

anyway. if you’ve got the same dilemma, please join me.

and i would love to hear your success story.

my advice? don’t overwhelm yourself, pick one or two things that you want to change. and always do the most important one first.

and remember to try following this for your frame of mind… it really helps!

precious little things above yes?

i’m starting to write down all the different photo ideas for our family photo session this june.

we are going to a place with golden fields, gorgeous curvy trees and lots of green wide open spaces! (love that song).

the biggest project for me right now is actually not the ideas, those come pretty easy and a lot of it just happens naturally as you are taking “candid” shots. the thing i have to get a move on is the outfits we’re going to wear. not so much me, but for husband and child. of course i’m excited to do so, i love putting it all together. and since i’m going to be the photographer too, i really do have to put it All together. can’t wait to share it.

remember my spring promises?

sadly, i have not completed anything!

i sorta got rid of my writer’s block. but does sorta really count? well, i guess the answer to that would be - sorta. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. eh hem. sorry.

so i am going to do at least two of the things this week. the first one- going to the park with nugget and giving him his own plastic camera (which i bought a month ago) so we can do our first photo session together.

the second one is me & my husband doing something fantastically out of character. now, this one was hard. because neither of us are thrill-seekers nor do we do things out of character much. i mean, we get excited on a saturday night when we planned on having burgers but then switch it to pizza at the last minute, like – oh yeah! livin’ on the edge! so, i’ve decided to start out slow… drum roll please… we’re going to go fly a kite, on the beach. it’s something we’ve never done and i really wouldn’t have thought of it unless i was trying to think of things for us to do that we haven’t done. don’t you love the words do & done?

ordinary? maybe. but i’m still excited.

it’s such a cute thing. it even sounds cute:

i’ve been trying to get my creativity for photographs up and running.

you can see here and here, my first inspiration takes.

it’s a bit challenging taking these photos in the same room all the time.

i really need to get out. but my busy days have been pressing the pause button for my photography whimsy.

i thought of my yellow skirt and green heart ring last night, i wrote it down before i went to bed and hurriedly took some shots before nugget finished his snack this morning.

i love seeing how one slight difference in a photo can take it from good to great or even from good to gorgeous. not that i see that here, but i do love when i can see that difference in a sequence of photos.

every session gives me an idea for a photo session outdoors.

today’s gave me 3.

hopefully next week will be pretty enough to go and bring them to life
