i am so attracted to lively living rooms.

filled with character & color.

there must be fresh flowers (or fake ones when my pocket book is dry)

i love something about each of the living rooms above, not everything… but i could take away some inspiration from each for sure.

my favorite thing in the first picture is the dashes of bright colors, in the second picture it’s the light pink sofas – i would only have one and then make the other sofa a print, instead of the same solid pink & i also love the bookcases! what i would give for built in bookcases! and in the third picture i adore the tufted couch, although i’d change the color to a sea green. i’ve daydreamed about finding a tufted item at a thrift store or garage sale. i imagine when i do i’ll say “this is like a day dream come true!” & the lady behind the counter will pretend she didn’t hear me & then i’ll pretend i didn’t say it.

the top two photos are from countryliving.com . if you love that type of style, you should take a looky. they have great ideas, seemingly endless! i’ve subscribed to their magazine for a while now & i have yet to not love an issue.

isn’t this the sweetest little table set?

i think it would be impossible to be grouchy while sitting there.

& if you were being grouchy, i’d just whip an adorable, tiny cupcake at your head & snap you right out of it.

today is only going to be about 9 degrees. so when i saw this table i just swooned, it reminds me of a perfect spring day, all that is missing is the window being open with a pretty curtain moving in the breeze.

have i ever mentioned how much i love curtains dancing from the breeze?

well, i do.

i love trees moving in the breeze the most, but curtains have their own charm too, especially when they have sunlight sifting through them.

ok, let me digress before i start crying.

anyway, Valentine’s day is just around the corner & i am doing a pretty lousy job preparing for it.

this cold weather has made me extremely lazy with anything that has to do with leaving the house.

i mean really, as soon as i saw the forecast on saturday, i said very matter of fact-ly -wellp! i’m not going out on those two days.

how lucky am i that i can just make impulsively weird statements like that & then they actually come true.

just another perk of being a stay at home mom…. barricading myself inside for two days in a row & not feeling like i’m missing anything.

& i even start convincing myself that i’m the normal one. yesterday i did a double take from thinking i saw a person walking outside. and when i realized i was right, i stood there for about thirty seconds spying on this person, utterly intrigued by anyone who would be walking on such a freezing day. even if they were with a dog. why? why?!

so yesterday i learned that:

1) spying on people is weird, even when you know there is no way they can see you, it’s just weird.

2) indeed, i should not own a dog.

3) even if the person you’re spying on can’t see you. other people checking their mail way too slowly, can.

i really love the idea of having a pretty dry erase “board” like the one above.

and i also love the idea of writing positive & cute messages on it.

i finally get to leave the house today, for a little while.

but it’s so cold that i’m probably gonna turn into the tin man (pre-oil can) as soon as i step outside.

i’ve got so many Christmas gift ideas, it’s madness! just paging through all my latest magazines, going to my favorite etsy shops, and browsing other blogs… i tell ya, there is no shortage of lovely things around here.

all the items above are $30 or less! isn’t that just smashing?

i am highly considering getting the dress for Christmas, i think it’s perfect with the long sleeves and contrasted romantic skirt, love it.

floral – out of my mind

i nod in agreement to “less is more” because most of us know that too much of a good thing usually means it looks bad because it’s overwhelming, so it just ruins the good thing.

and yet i am so smitten for florals right now that i might go ahead and get everything above (and by might, i mean, if i could… but i can’t) so i could be sleeping as my floral fan blows on my floral pajamas waking me up to go eat my breakfast off my floral plates and then go relax in my floral pajamas while looking out my floral kaleidoscope, at… well, flowers.

i actually have a floral kaleidoscope that i got off of etsy, it’s vintage! but the one above would be a lovely addition. and my birthday is right around the corner.

anyway, i just found this Victorian Trading Co that all the items above are from, they have many gorgeous things. if you like romantic, Victorian or vintage things, you’ll love them.
