i nod in agreement to “less is more” because most of us know that too much of a good thing usually means it looks bad because it’s overwhelming, so it just ruins the good thing.

and yet i am so smitten for florals right now that i might go ahead and get everything above (and by might, i mean, if i could… but i can’t) so i could be sleeping as my floral fan blows on my floral pajamas waking me up to go eat my breakfast off my floral plates and then go relax in my floral pajamas while looking out my floral kaleidoscope, at… well, flowers.

i actually have a floral kaleidoscope that i got off of etsy, it’s vintage! but the one above would be a lovely addition. and my birthday is right around the corner.

anyway, i just found this Victorian Trading Co that all the items above are from, they have many gorgeous things. if you like romantic, Victorian or vintage things, you’ll love them.

i feel extra specially good today.

i took a 4 hour nap with nugget yesterday.

ha!

i feel like a teenager right now. the summer teenager me. when i slept in and got up easily and made a whole lot of plans to do a whole lot of nothin’.

oh. so. nice.

what do you think of all the blueness above?

i adore it. talk about eternal spring in your home.

now i’m going to go lay out while nugget is in his pool. then i’m going to run a few errands and then… eat some naughty things because it’s saturday and i’ve earned it.

i found this today here & think it would look so pretty somewhere in my new home.

i can’t decide if i’d like it in a small room (like a coat room, i guess they call that the entrance? ) or if it would look better in my kitchen, on an accent wall.

i doubt i’ll ever have a whole room wallpapered, perhaps it is the “less is more” thing i hold to. a pattern like this is so pretty and refreshing to me when i envision it on one or two walls, but when i think of it in an entire room, i get dizzy.

anyway. this has gone down in my favorites.

i actually found a house to move into yesterday.

perfect little thing. dormers (ready for my flower boxes), huge front porch AND back porch (iced tea and a fan anyone?) , big front yard, big back yard and the inside had lots of potential. which of course means the interior is currently a drag but nothing i can’t fix.

but our house isn’t quite on the market yet so i guess i shouldn’t get too excited. what do they call that? counting chickens before they’ve hatched, wishful thinking, a waste of precious time?

this tiny clock is sweet & glamourous ...

i love this accent table. the curve in its cute legs and its fancy, polished allure.

i love black in small doses, these floral tealight holders are so sweet!

have i ever mentioned that i love blue? well, i do. and this french blue has always caught my eye. this vase is a divine piece of artwork yes?

oh chandeliers! i am a little obsessed with chandeliers. they are the perfect way to add glamour and romance. here is another example of black in a small dose, but ever lovely just the same.

one thing in this room: the color on the wall, i am so in love with that color right now, it's a must-be-destiny sorta thing i'm feeling

two things in this room: those long gorgeous curtains and i'll take that romantically free spirited looking centerpiece too please.

one thing in this room: that chalkboard door... i'm not sure if i'd put it in my kitchen... but i'd love to work it in somehow.

one thing in this room: ok, that wall? really! or is it called a mural? i'm really not sure, but that's ok. i wouldn't want the exact artwork, but i just love the concept.

one thing in this room: that lovely little chandelier. so sweet!

and if you are wondering what it is exactly, that’s easy. it’s me, decorating my new home that i don’t have yet.

sounds weird to some i’m sure, but it’s surprisingly exciting and turns out pretend designing is quite stress free and causes no dismay to the pocket book or husband.

i’m going to get some sun today. yes, i’m going to get my first tan line in April… wow. that might be a first in many many years.

ms. last minute

i’m very rarely ms. last minute when it comes to buying gifts. i’d love to say it’s because i am so perfectly organized, but the truth of the matter is, i love to shop. so, when there is an impending gift-buying-occasion, i start bright and early in energetic glee.

mother’s day is May 9th, so i already bought my Mom something a couple weeks ago… i told you so. and, well, this is the silly part… she already has it. i gave it to her last week since i’m not going to see her on mother’s day. it wasn’t planned, but she came over, and a little thought bubble floated over my head and in it she looked so happy after she opened it, so i just couldn’t resist. my thought bubbles are exceptionally vivid.

i got her a new spring handbag and organic body balm.

but look-ee above at what i found from felix doolittle yesterday. aren’t they so pretty? and you can personalize them too, what mother doesn’t love a personalized gift from their child? they are 11×14 and come framed. they’re a bit pricey (150 buck-a-roos) but definitely something she’d cherish forever if it is, in fact, her style.

i’m going to have (at least) one mother’s day gift idea a week until the lovely day arrives. that way you can hopefully gain some ideas and plus i can land huge hints on my husband’s radar screen of gift confusion.

*woke up feeling sassy today and i’m just going to roll with it.

this bed is plucked right out of my design heart. gah-gah -that's all i can say right now.

i love this sort of chair, bright white with a dash of spring color. i wonder if its comfy.

once again, i think i missed the boat on this dramatic clock. this must have been in juliet's room right?

i thought what drew me to this picture was the bookcase, then i realized it was actually her outfit - i'll take both please.

firstly, the title of this post is REO Speedwagon lyrics from their song Roll with the Changes. if you ever feel like you need a good verbal lickin’ from a song… wellp – there ya have it. i conquered the fake finish line on my treadmill many times to that get-it-done-tune.

i truly am inspired to new heights with these photos. i can not wait to decorate my new home. new, as in, wasn’t mine and now is mine. not as in, build it for me tomorrow.

that bed in the first picture is so pretty, it’s not sold here in the US and plus, it says SOLD on the sales page. i guess those are two signs that i should start searching for a (very) similar style, starting now.

three things here: a curving staircase, big windows with character & i would love that light blue... somewhere.

two things here: a giant chandelier and a gorgeous floral pattern on a piece of furniture, like an infinite flower pot.

three things here: big windows with white curtains, a scroll-ee chunky fireplace & a smooth, snow white couch

if you haven’t already heard the big news, i am moving (hopefully) soon.

so, of course i have been happy-cool, picking out what i would love for my next home.

these are just a few of the things that i would go gah-gah for.

i really really want a house with tons of character. but i don’t want it to be so old that every floor board sounds like a rotting ship.

i think the outside of the house will be my biggest dilemma because so many houses lack charm. they are so cookie cutter (edward-scissor-hands-neighborhoody)

but, i won’t borrow troubles from tomorrow. that’s the foolish me.

i’ll just pretend shop for things i can not afford, that’s the me i know and love!
