wishlist tuesday. ruche – a garden daydream.

just paged through the new Ruche lookbook today & wow! so very pretty!

makes me want to buy a few new dresses.

& then go to a field.

& just stare at everything very pensively.

& of course i would love it if a little birdie landed upon my finger.

but i’d probably get a bit overwhelmed amidst that many butterflies. just because i get scared of groups of things that can fly. or else swarm me. & possibly make some sort of giant web to smash me in.

and i know butterflies don’t make webs, but in nature, i can be slightly irrational and exhaustively imaginative.

yesterday was lovely. about 62 degrees! me and nugget went outside and he walked around with his bubble maker till it ran dry. i love bubbles. especially in sunshine, very therapeutic. and the great thing about the bubble maker that i bought him is that he doesn’t have to try to blow out a bubble, which is sorta hard at his age and he always ends up eating it. he just keeps pressing the handle up and down and voila! tons of bubbles! he has a blast doing all the work and i just lie there like a queen watching his efforts float around me. it’s quite enchanting, really.

i am very much pmsing so i really needed the sun and fresh air. i feel so much better when i have wide open spaces to be grouchy in.

i loved Domino Magazine.

did you?

and then, poof! it went away.

i didn’t even get to say goodbye.

anyway, Lonny Mag is very reminiscent of Domino, in my opinion

i only wish i could subscribe to it for like 12 dollars like i did Domino

i get the whole save the earth thing, but no one is going to convince me that reading my books and magazines on a screen is better

i want to hold and feel what i am reading, i want to view it “live” in front of me & not get cross eyed headaches and see double of my child every time i’m done.

but, that being said, i love Lonny so much that for now, i will page through their online mag with minimal complaints, since it’s pretty fabulous. i know they offer printed copies but the price tag is a bit, um, well…

how was your monday?

i’ve got so many Christmas gift ideas, it’s madness! just paging through all my latest magazines, going to my favorite etsy shops, and browsing other blogs… i tell ya, there is no shortage of lovely things around here.

all the items above are $30 or less! isn’t that just smashing?

i am highly considering getting the dress for Christmas, i think it’s perfect with the long sleeves and contrasted romantic skirt, love it.

when i was 20 i was almost let in to a county fair for free because she thought i was 14.

at the time i didn’t think it was great. not at all.

but the older i get the more i think it’s quite fun for people not to think so.

don’t get me wrong, in the morning light, when i stand in the mirror to observe what’s going on with my face that day- i see changes. ( i always do my makeup in natural light since there is no sense in fooling ones self that the gentle light of their bathroom is going to follow them out the door)

it’s funny how fast changes happen.

i say mine happened most after i got pregnant.

i was a very icky pregnant girl.

so sick for 10 weeks that i still get panicky thinking about the next time.

i broke out in these odd reptile bumps all over my forehead.

my hair went completely limp as though it found out i was pregnant and just gave up.

i gained 57 pounds and honestly, i really didn’t eat horribly. i just didn’t move much since, oh yeah, i was dreadfully depressed and experienced debilitating panic attacks for a good 3 months.

and i also had migraines, sinus infections, heart burn, indigestion, metal mouth, and a bad back. those happy pregnant girls’ on the magazines were like aliens to me.

finally, when i had one month to go, my hair actually curled and i had a piece of cake without turning into a volcano.

then i had this guy…

i think i cooked him just right.

did i finish any thoughts in the post?

i am so happy that lace is back!

the husband took the child to the grandparents.

don’t bug out your eyes too much when i admit this, but nugget is 3 and this is roughly the third time that he has gone somewhere with his Dad only.

not counting the park or grocery store.

so it’s VERY weird for me to be here alone, for hours. it’s sorta like i wanna do so much because i have this opportunity but then again i want to do nothing because i have this opportunity.

i am sure i’ll vacuum something.

i am sure i’ll eat the 3 reeses peanut butter cups that i hid from my husband because he always cone heads my treats and then professes that he ate them like a speedy sow because he loves me and he’s protecting my immune system.

i am sure i’ll ignore the phone because i am not going to spend this – once in a blue moon – alone time on the phone.

ok. so what do i have so far?

let’s see.

vacuuming, eating reeses, ignoring people who want to talk to me.

sounds like a list that belongs to a disgruntled 74 year old.

in my defense, i do have an ear ache, which is why i chose to stay home.

not in my defense, i delight in vacuuming and i am truly sick of the phone.

i’ll let you know how it all ended.

i didn’t know her name, but she seemed really sweet.
