once, i told a lie.

when i was 6 my best friend came to school and softly told me she began taking ballet classes.

i wanted to take ballet so badly. i had daydreamed about a tutu as soon as i saw what one was.

enter: my first lie.

i told my best friend: me too.

you’re taking them too? she asked

uh-hum i replied.

and just as it would turn out on any after school special, she asked me to show her what i learned.

and just as you would see on the list of “Many Reasons Why You Should Not Lie”

- i was frozen stiff in the fear

so, like most little liars do, i tried to get out of it by asking her to show me first since i just started my non-existing class and couldn’t remember it right.

and as she showed me first position, i told her that she did it very well and she was delighted with my compliment, so… moral of the story… no harm no foul.

just kidding.

lying is dreadful. but does it really count when you’re little? i remember my sister telling lies all the time when she was little and my Mom always looks back on it and laughs fondly while calling her a “storyteller”

today i am wearing a tutu mesh skirt and a white body suit, i feel very ballerina-ee. i’m already a bit hot in it but it’s worth all the horrible jumps i’m going to be doing around the house all day.

i know it’s monday, but come on, dance with me.

i took one just like this when he was in diapers last year. so sweet!

fake walking.

green cropped coat... $2.00! i love this color green and this caught my eye the moment i was walking up the driveway. my sister & mom were pretty jealous, which brings me no joy but does make me feel great about having an exceptionally speedy scanning method and being shamelessly nimble through a crowd. the necklace is from modcloth.com, i got it last summer, i love its vintage look & of course... pretty bird!

nugget wanted to take a picture with me so badly when he saw me doing my fake walk. how can i resist this nugget!

pretty little teacup... only $1.50, this is my first tea cup! i just started drinking tea regularly and i was tickled pink to find such a perfect first cup & saucer at such a great price!

vanity tray... $1.00 (as you can see from the sticker i forgot to peel off) i'm going to paint this. i really want to paint the whole thing, even the mirror.

so there you have it.

i think i did fab. i also but nugget a kids (plastic) golf set for only $1.00. it came with the little bag (i guess that’s called a golfers bag?? ha ha. i don’t know!) and 3 different clubs and 3 balls and a little tee.

so, i spent $5.50 and look at all i got!

well, i’m going to go fill up nuggets pool and lay in the sun.

i'm not sure if i'll ever show a close up of my feet in open toed shoes. it's not that they're hideous, but they certainly have never impressed me.

so today is going to be 75 degrees.

i could go on a picnic! i’m not going to but just to know that i could is thrilling right now. you know, i love having options to shoot down.

i get to wear one of my favorite new dresses. honestly, i think i could have designed this dress in one of my (too) many daydreams.

the vintage style floral print, the light blue backdrop, the little ruffle with buttons down the center, the empire waist and then a perfect bow to tie up in the back. i mean really, i wonder if it would be too much to call up & ask if they could name this the Amy Dress.

on a non-narcissistic note, i’m taking nugget to get his haircut today. he cries every time so i never look forward to it. then i’m off to get some Easter stuff, which i love choosing from that giant pastel aisle. i’m just getting him a little basket and some candy. i don’t think Easter should be like their birthday. when i see commercials for Easter, i’m like, really? that much stuff? hmmm.

well. i hope you get to have a warm sunny day too.

mondays are hard for most of us.

although, when i had a full time job i felt pretty refreshed on monday and always found wednesdays to be my least favorite.

and i remember most everyone i worked with calling wednesday hump day and they were all, oh it’s wednesday, hump day! and once we’re over this hump it’s all yee-haw! now where’s your spirit young lady?!

and i’d blow a huge bubble gum bubble to pop it loudly, shrug like a slug and coolly say i dunno

no, that’s not a true story

and yes, i got some of my character’s persona from Grease I

but truly, i didn’t think much of that hump day thing.

or the different directions most males took it.

today i’m wearing this victorias secret (very) puffed sleeved sweater (i madly love puffed sleeves) and a vintage looking pearl necklace from forever21.

i love the look of the sweater but it isn’t the most comfortable. only because the tie comes undone a lot (i know i could knot it but it looks weird to me). but when i wear a tank under it, it’s not as big of a deal when i’m not. actually, i only go tank-free at home. cuz it’s too risky in public. the kind of risk where one strong hug can give everyone a sneak peak at your lovelies.

i really like the necklace too, especially with this sweater cuz they are both vintage looking.

had to share the third picture, as i was doing my photo shoot (i am the photographer… ) i was also watching nugget. you can (sorta) see his little ear right where my arm is.

it isn’t easy taking pics of yourself. at least not for me. i have the hardest time smiling when i take my own pics! so if i look a bit full-of-hot-air-ish, that’s why!

i’ve been wearing leggings and tunics since they came back. i LOVE leggings and tunics. i really hope they never go out of style and even if they do, i might say oh well and wear them as i please anyway. today however, i opted for skinny jeans that i’m not sure if i’m skinny enough for and a mickey raglan style tee. the heels were so fun to put on but i can’t lie, i’m not wearing them out… i’d for certain slip on some hidden ice patch (see first picture), plus it’s way too cold.
