i’m so close to finishing my book project, hopefully another couple months will wrap it all up in a pretty bow. i know i wanted to have it done by Christmas, but with shopping, baking and generally being of good cheer… it’s not looking likely. the good news is, i am diligently keeping at it so it will be done shortly after. am excited. i repeat. am very excited.

this video, i made on a whim, showcasing the essence of the book. if you are not good with understanding poetry, you may still enjoy the drama of the photographs which are really like still life’s of the story within the poems within the book. the point of the book is just that, a love story gathered inside photographs & poetry.

if this project has reaffirmed one thing for me, it is this, and i want to share it with you…

don’t wait for the “perfect time” to begin pursuing a dream (when the kids are all in school, after the holidays, when my house is in great order, etc) … just get started and keep plugging away at it, whether it’s for 15 minutes one day and 2 hours the next week, if you don’t leave it for too long, you will find that it all comes along. Things you thought would never move will move or else you will jump over them. because that’s what you do when you want it that bad. i’m not much for excuses. when i want it, i fight for it. most everyone on the planet is busy – so that CAN NOT be an excuse! get started right away and don’t look back. thee end. thee beginning.

i’ve always loved the quote by Henry Ford:

“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”

so yesterday i finally had a photo shoot for my book project.

i had only one hour to get it done, since my husband said so. i guess he had to go to work or something and couldn’t be late and he couldn’t take nugget with. total sob story.

i’m very excited to complete it, i want it all done by October.

i am so glad that i finally completed a real session, outdoors! (the last time i did that was last fall)

my mom is my assistant. i set up the shot (the camera is on the tripod) and then she promptly presses the button when i yell “now!”

just kidding. i ask nicely.

i’ve envisioned these shots for months. and to finally have them sends me over the moon. i have about 6 more sessions to go before the weather turns sour. it sounds almost impossible but i want to complete it so badly, that i don’t see how anyone is going to be able to stop me.

ps – i found those flowers about an hour before my shoot. it was like they were just waiting for me, they fit the part exactly with their deep romantic colors and there was only one bunch left! beside them were only all the same colored flowers or the really crazy dyed ones. sweet destiny!

my book project is slowly (but surely!) coming along.

i know it will be one of those long awaited goals that makes me jump over the moon when i am finished, so i will be patient.

i learned a long time ago that rushing something that needs to take its time is never a good idea.

i will post a few winter shots that i intend on taking next week, no matter how cold i am while doing so! (ugghy)

i wanted to share these outtakes from my up and coming book. just so you can see the thrill i get from being a nerd. the objective was to run through the field with a pensive look on my face but since i was wearing 3 inch heel mary janes, i kept tripping and it’s hard to look thoughtful while falling. i had a lot of fun that day.
