as soon as january hits, i start seeing valentine’s day stuff and i love it.
yes, i am one of those girls
if you don’t like valentine’s day and think it is too commercial or just flat out over rated, then i am giving you a teensy warning here:
i might irritate you for the next two weeks
i don’t want to, but i can’t help it
i L-O-V-E, love valentine’s day
even when i was a single girl without any boy’s hand to hold, i still celebrated it. well, ok, not in the exact same way. i didn’t go out to dinner alone and laugh at invisible jokes from the empty seat in front me.
but i still loved valentines and i actually did buy myself the cutest box of chocolates i could find, merrily wore lovely pink ensembles and promptly handed out little cards to friends and family.
of course i was jealous of all the love birds i’d see that day. and maybe i did throw out a few fake smiles while thinking – what does he see in her? and ok, i guess there were a couple times i wanted to send a “mean” valentine to my ex. ya know, like smash a gooey chocolate inside an unassuming card and just write there! inside.
but all in all i always had a quaintly sweet celebration.
and i just believed that one day i’d have a love bird of my own
and i was right ; )
so for the next two weeks, get ready for all the lovely things to unite with the 14th… xo
